There will be a drone show ahead of Victoria’s Canada Day fireworks

In case you missed the news, there will be a drone show over Victoria’s skies this upcoming Canada Day.

This coming Monday, the BC Legislature lawns and Belleville Street will come alive with high-energy music and entertainment. The night will culminate with an incredible performance by DJ Shub, Victoria Inner Harbour’s first-ever drone show, and a spectacular fireworks display.

The drone show will be curated and designed by celebrated contemporary Indigenous artist, Rande Cook as part of the grand finale, while City of Victoria Poet Laureate Marie Metaphor-Specht interweaves her spoken word into the experience, complemented by the voice of Indigenous poet Shauntelle Dick-Charleson to a soundscape composed by DJ Boitano.

The seven-minute show will take place right after the headliner at around 10:15 p.m. and feature ultra-high lumen drones flying in beautiful, mesmerizing formations.

The Canada Day celebration is being planned by Rifflandia Entertainment Company, brought the first ever drone show to Victoria last year across all three nights at Electric Avenue during last year’s Rifflandia Festival.
