Vancouver Island’s largest fair is happening this Labour Day weekend

Get ready for a fantastic Labour Day long weekend at the Saanich Fair!

The beloved Saanich Fair is ready to welcome you for their 155th year—complete with a stacked weekend of crowd favourites and wild entertainment from Saturday, September 2nd to Monday, September 4th.

This year, the theme is “Jammin’ at the Fair,” with a special focus on preserved foods that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.

Dave Hamer, one of the Directors of the Saanich Fair, shared, “While we always have a jam section, that’s the central theme this year. People will be participating in contests featuring different jams and jellies. That’s the true essence of the fair—participants showcasing their talents, whether it’s the finest vegetables, the most enormous pumpkin, or other remarkable creations.”

For all the green thumbs, cultivators, and cultivators-at-heart, they have exciting prizes in store for the winners, including ribbons and modest cash rewards.

And that’s not all!

Prepare to be delighted by a diverse range of entertainment options, including captivating live music, delightful animals, prize-worthy vegetables, delectable food trucks, exhilarating Midway rides, and much more.

Guess what? Bingo is making a triumphant return this year!

The Rotary Club of Sidney BC will be hosting bingo sessions throughout the weekend, running from approximately 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The music lineup is perfectly aligned with designated genre days. Saturday will be Country Day, while Sunday will be all about Rock Day.

The headliners for the weekend are sure to blow you away.

Aaron Pritchett, a renowned country star and charismatic performer, will be taking the stage on Saturday, September 2nd at 8 p.m. Pritchett, a nominee for prestigious awards like the Juno Awards and CCMA Awards, is known for his exceptional talent and genuine stage presence.

Get ready for a rock-infused experience on Sunday, September 3rd at 8 p.m. as PRISM, the iconic “Spaceship Superstar” band, graces the stage. With multi-platinum albums and two Juno Awards under their belt, PRISM promises an unforgettable performance.

We’re also thrilled to showcase the extraordinary talents of British-Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist, Brett Smith-Daniels.

Often hailed as the “future of rock and roll,” Smith-Daniels has collaborated with music legends like members of The Rolling Stones and Teddy Andreadis from Guns N’ Roses. Catch his performance on Sunday, September 3rd from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Admission to the fairgrounds is as follows:

  • Adults (14 years and above): $15
  • Youth (7-13 years): $10
  • Seniors (65 years and older): $10
  • Children aged 6 years and under: FREE! (No ticket required)
  • Secure your weekend fair pass in advance and save. Plus, don’t miss out on the Midway wristbands priced at $35 before the fair’s opening day, and $45 thereafter. Ride, food, and game credits are an additional $1 for each credit.

Mark your calendars and be part of the magic at the Saanich Fair from September 2nd to September 4th.

Maybe we will see you there!
